We went to a cottage in Wales, and it was called Little Wern. As you can see from the title, it's called Little Wern. We went there because there was a quarry near the cottage, and in the quarry, there were fossils!

My Mummy found this rainbow trilobite.

We stayed there for three nights and two days, and we went fossil hunting four times. It was very, very cold!!! Beneath this picture, it's a baby trilobite. It's a surprise trilobite, because we split the rock and there it was. I found all the big ones! They're not super-big, but they are big. It was my bestest fossil hunting holiday ever!!

Wenlock Edge

Hello! The day when we started to come to Wales, then on the way, we went to Wenlock Edge, and we found a few fossils. We parked the car, and we put everything in our bags, and we started walking. It was a walk that was called "Lime Kiln Walk", and we'd been told that was the best one to find fossils. There was a big quarry, but we couldn't go in the quarry, because we weren't allowed. But on the side you could get to some rocks, and we looked there.

We think we found a few corals, but we're not sure. We think this is one...

...and this is one?

And we think there are some corals in there.

We think this is a crinoid stem, but we're not sure.

...and we're not even sure if these are fossils at all.

After our visit to Wenlock Edge, we went to Wales, and we're here now. I found fossils here as well, but they're all trilobites, and I'll tell you about them later.

Another fossil expert called Mary

Today would have been the 100th birthday of another fossil expert called Mary. She was called Mary Leaky, and she found a ...
... fossilised ape skull. The ape was called a "Proconsul". Her husband was called Louis, and he was a fossil expert as well. They were both archaeologists, and they taught us lots about how we evolved. Evolution is how apes turned more and more into people, and soon the apes turned into stone age people, and then the stone age people turned into us. It only took a few million years. Now I know two fossil experts called Mary, but Mary Anning is still my favourite.

Hello, my name is Toby. I am five years old, and I want to be a palaeontologist. I really like fossils, so I'm writing down everything I do with fossils! My Mummy is doing the typing until I'm a bit older, but she writes everything I say.
