Cool Places
There are lots of cool places with fossils. I have been to some, and I want to go to lots more, so I'm putting them here so I don't forget. Maybe you want to visit them, too!
Centre for Life, Newcastle
We went there last week-end (edit from Mum: September 2013), and it was really cool. There is lots about exploring the world, and evolution. There was something called a dinosaur exhibit, but it wasn't all about dinosaurs, it was about all kinds of fossils. There was a really small ichthyosaur, too, and really good games were you could do a dig, or x-ray a fish, so it was like you were doing proper research. We are definitely going back!

Weston Park Museum
Weston Park Museum is in Sheffield, and they have lots of fossils - they show what Sheffield looked like 310 million years ago - it was a swamp. They have a plesiosaur and an ichthyosaur, and lots about archaeology, like things that they found in Sheffield. There are lots of doors and flaps to open. I really, really liked it! (Edit by Mummy: read about our visit here.)

Yorkshire Museum
The Yorkshire Museum is in York, and we went there because they have a whole ichthyosaur!! It is a special one, because it is a "type specimen", that means if anybody finds an ichthyosaur, they check this one to see if it is like this one, and then they know what kind of ichthyosaur it is. It's huge! My head would fit where the eye is! They have lots of other fossils, too, and games, and I really liked the Roman exhibition, too!

Dinosaurier Park Münchehagen
We went to this park with Auntie Katrin, and it is really good. It is near Hannover, in Germany. We wrote about what we did here: http://www.fossilfriends.co.uk/1/post/2012/11/our-visit-to-the-dinosaur-park.html
You can read all about the park here: http://www.dinopark.de
- but you'll have to speak German!

Creswell Crags
We went to visit Creswell Crags, because it is near where we live, and there is a fossilised dragonfly there! I want to find a fossilised dragonfly, too!

Natural History Museum, London
I've just been to the Natural History Museum - it has lots of fossils, and lots of ichthyosaurs and plesiosaurs that Mary Anning found. You can read about when we went to the museum here: http://www.fossilfriends.co.uk/1/post/2013/05/the-natural-history-museum.html
